Most Frequent Questions

Academy of Cyber Security members don’t pay upfront tuition fees. Instead, they pay for the Academy using an Income Share Agreement, or ISA.

Under our ISA, you agree to pay 10% of your post-Academy income with 48 monthly payments, but only when you’re making more than £27,000 (£2,250 per month)

For example, if you get a job paying a salary of £36,000, you’re earning £3,000 per month. 10% of £3,000 is £300, so you pay £300 that month for your ISA.

You make 10% payments on your income every month until you’ve made 48 monthly payments.

If your income ever drops below the threshold of £2,250 per month, you don’t make a payment that month.

If you don’t pay back your ISA agreement after 96 months, it is wiped off completely.

The Academy runs live, online classrooms from 9:30am – 3:30pm Monday-Friday. This includes 30 minutes for lunch.

Every second Friday (once per fortnight), Academy Members will attend a offline, real-life bootcamp day in either Manchester or London. These bootcamp days will run from 9am – 5pm.

Academy members will also be expected to complete their personalised homework requirements in their own time. This self-study element is set and reviewed monthly.

Unfortunately not. The Academy of Cyber Security classes are live and interactive and include group work with your peers.

To get the most out of the Academy, members need to attend classes in real-time.

Part-time courses are currently in development.

Not at all.

Our career advisory team and your mentor will work closely with you to make sure you make the right decision.

We do recommend members step onto the cyber security career ladder ASAP though, as cyber security professionals tend to see pay rises very quickly.

Absolutely! We don’t get paid until you’re earning over £27,000. If we don’t find you employment, we go out of business…

We do everything in our power to make sure you receive employment within 12 weeks of graduation.

Often enough, Academy members have their first job lined up straight after graduation and are even invited to interview whilst still enrolled in the Academy.

Our employer partnerships and network ensures there are ample opportunities available.

The average salary for a cyber security professional in the UK is £72,500.

Initial salary expectations depend on your previous experience and performance in the Academy.

For example, if you get a job paying a salary of £36,000, you’re earning £3,000 per month. 10% of £3,000 is £300, so you pay £300 that month for your ISA.

No, not at all. ISA’s are not counted as debt or loans.

The Academy of Cyber Security partners with an ISA provider to handle all administration regarding ISAs.

The ISA provider will be in contact with you during your ISA obligation period to make sure your ISA is held accountable.

You will be required to report your employment status and income on a monthly basis. This is done online and takes approximately 1 minute.

We offer a refund policy to students who don’t complete the full course.

This refund policy is on a pro-rata basis and revolves around the modules you have completed before you leave the Academy.

If you complete 50% of the Academy, you will pay back 5%  of your monthly income for 48 qualifying months (halve of the original 10% agreement).

Yes, you can choose to pay for the Academy up-front. We will ask for your preferred payment method in the application process.

You can get a quote if you contact [email protected]

Repayments begin once you are earning above the £27k (£2,250 per month) threshold.

Repayments stop once you have paid back a total of 48 installments. If your income drops below the threshold, you will not pay an installment that month.

Alternatively, if you do not pay back the ISA installments within 96 months, the ISA agreement is written off completely.

Academy members are able to become self-employed whenever they choose.

Our ISA provider will request details of your income and annual accounts to calculate your ISA repayments.
